To attract spectators, sports need to be more and more spectacular. The mountainbike eliminator (XCE) and E-MTB disciplines are great examples of those fast sports.  at the XCE discipline athletes are battling against each other on a short and challenging track full of obstacles through big cities. This is done by a knock-out system, 4 riders in one heat, the best two continue. The speed is high, the obstacles spectacular and battles are tight.
At the E-MTB discipline the connection between rider and bike becomes even more important. Tracks are spectacular and not possible with a normal bike. The uphills are on hiking trails, the downhills via enduro trails and this for 60 minutes long! It requires the maximum from the bike and rider. Physical you need to be on your best to make the difference.
A big name in those sports is Jeroen van Eck (29). In the eliminator he won the World Cup Overall in 2018 en 2021 and is a double European Champion. In the E-MTB he wrote history by becoming the first National Champion E-MTB and Dutch winner of the 2021 World Cup E-MTB.
